" Mausam", which was scheduled for a Friday release, will now hit the screens across the globe Sep 23. "Mausam", a romantic film, is Shahid's father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut and in the film Shahid plays a fighter pilot and is seen "flying" a fighter. The romantic saga will see Shahid falling in love with a Kashmiri girl, played by Sonam Kapoor.

We want the release to happen globally on the same day, so we have changed the release date to Sep 23. We don't want a fragmented release...," said Shahid.

First Look Of Toyota Etios Liva

Toyota has launched the petrol variant of its small car Liva in India on June 27 delhi, priced between Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh. The J variant is priced at Rs 3.99 lakhs and the G variant is priced at Rs 4.59 lakhs. This will make the 1.2-litre car from the world's top carmaker competitive, the fastest-growing segment in the 2.5-million Indian passenger car market, and force rivals to consider price cuts.

The company had earlier deferred its launch from April to June. The decision was taken to reduce the long waiting period resulting from the overwhelming response received for the Etios.

The concept vehicles of Etios and Etios Liva were first unveiled at Auto Expo last year in Delhi and later travelled to across the country with the 'Toyota Q-World' reaching out to more than one lakh prospective customers.

The auto major has also invested Rs 3,200 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Bangalore. We will increase the production of the second plant from 70,000 units to 1,20,000 units to shorten the waiting period for Etios and meet future demand of Liva," Nakagawa said

Government Hikes Diesel Prices by Rs. 3, LPG by Rs. 50 and Kerosene by Rs. 2

Indian Government raised diesel, cooking gas and kerosene oil prices for the first time in a year to reduce losses.

Diesel price hike by Rs 3 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs 2 per litre and LPG gas by Rs 50 for every 14.2 KG cylinder and slashed 5% customs and excise duties on crude oil, excise duty on diesel was cut from Rs. 4.60 per litre to Rs. 2 a liter.

The increase in the price decided at a meeting of empowered group of ministers headed by finance minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.

Diesel price in Delhi will be hiked by Rs. 3.40 per litre to Rs. 41.15 a litre with effect from midnight. Rates will vary at cities due to differential rates of VAT/sales tax.

A 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder now costs Rs. Rs. 345.35, while kerosene is priced at Rs. 12.32 per litre in Delhi.

LPG cooking gas will still be cheaper compared to that in the neighbouring countries. LPG in Pakistan costs Rs. 611.40 per cylinder, Rs. 484 in Bangladesh, Rs. 878.90 in Sri Lanka and Rs. 821 in Nepal.

Similarly, the Rs. 2 per litre hike in kerosene price, which comes on the back of last year's Rs. 3 per litre raise, would raise rates in Delhi to Rs. 14.32 per litre, still cheaper than Rs. 43.95 in Pakistan, Rs. 27.81 in Bangladesh, Rs. 25.12 in Sri Lanka and Rs. 42.61 of Nepal.

Teenager Rearrested in ATM Robbery

Indore Police rearrested a teenager who had looted Rs.29.88 lakh from an ATM there two months back. Most of the cash has been recovered from him.

The 18-year-old, a resident of Chhapra in Bihar, had entered an ATM of State Bank of India's University Branch in Indore through a window May 7, took apart the machine and escaped with the booty to Bihar.

The accused was identified by the police with the help of CCTV footage and a reward of Rs.10,000 was announced for his arrest.

Police had arrested him from Bihar and brought him back to Indore but he escaped from police custody on 29th May.

While running away, his leg had got fractured and he was under treatment in Indore. Soon a police team nabbed him.

Osama bin Laden was the 17th of 52 children of multibillionaire builder Mohammed bin Laden. Osama was the only one of his 52 siblings who never traveled to the West to study, preferring to study civil engineering at Jeddah University.

The bin Laden family is estimated to have about 600 members and Osama himself could have anywhere between 12 to 24 children from 4 wives.

Osama's son Omar who disagreed with his father's philosophy of violence and now lives in secrecy in Qatar.

In 1998, he had declared war on America in a fatwa that said killing Americans and their allies was a Muslim duty. Bin Laden, Al Qaeda provided financial and military aid to jihadis in Algeria, Egypt and Afghanistan.

"I can be eliminated, but not my mission," said Bin Laden.

On September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda operative hijacked and flew commercial aircraft into New York's World Trade Towers, bringing both towers down. The attack on the twin towers and a simultaneous one on the Pentagon left 3000 people dead. In 2004 bin Laden admitted on tape that he had personally instructed the nineteen hijackers involved in the attack.

Osama bin Laden has been top of the agenda for American Presidents for 10 years. Former President George W Bush in 2007, US and Afghan forces raided the mountain caves of Tora Bora in Afghanistan on receiving intelligence of an Al Qaeda meeting to be held there, but bin Laden eluded them.

US military forces carried out the operation in secret and bin Laden is said to have personally taken part in the 40 minute gunfight at his Abbottabad residence.

Osama bin Laden's dead body was taken into custody by the US authorities and reports suggest he was given a burial at sea, with islamic tradition.

Shiney Ahuja Accused Of Rape

Shiney was accused of raping his domestic help at his Andheri West home June 14, 2009. He has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The actor broke down after the judge pronounced him guilty; his wife, Anupam, knelt on the floor to console him.

Earlier, the 20-year-old maid of actor Shiney Ahuja who had accused him of rape last year turned hostile in the trial court and said he had not committed the crime.

DNA tests confirmed the rape. Ahuja was arrested. In his bail application, he said that the sex had been consensual, and that the rape charges were aimed at extortion.

The court relied on medical tests that established rape.

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the Budget for 2011-12 in Parliament today. Higher tax exemption limit for individuals, significant benefits for senior citizens, retention of service tax at 10 per cent and withdrawal of some duty exemptions were some of the major tax-related highlights of the Budget 2011-12.

Here is a look at which items are cheaper and which have become costly after the Budget:

Tax exemption limit raised to Rs. 1.8 lakh, from Rs. 1.60 lakh for individual tax payers.

For senior citizens, the qualifying age reduced to 60 years and exemption limit raised to Rs. 2.50 lakh from Rs. 2.40 lakh.

Citizens over 80 years to have exemption limit of Rs. 5 lakh.

Housing loan limit for priority sector lending raised to Rs.25 lakh.

1 per cent interest subvention on home laons upto Rs 15 lakh.

Basic food and fuel and precious stones, gold and silver jewellery will be exempted.

Basic customs duty on agricultural machinery reduced to 2.5 per cent from 5 per cent

Service tax widened to cover hotel accommodation above Rs. 1,000 per day, A/C restaurants serving liquor, some category of hospitals, diagnostic tests.

Service tax on air travel increased by Rs. 50 for domestic travel and Rs. 250 for international travel in economy class.

370 items that enjoy exemptions from central excise. 130 of these items that are mainly in the nature of consumer goods, the remaining 240 items to be brought into the tax net when GST is introduced.

3 per cent subsidy to farmers in FY 2012.

Nalco Head Abhay Kumar Srivastava Arrested on Bribery Charges

CBI arrested the CMD of the NALCO Mr. AK Srivastava and his wife for allegedly accepting bribe. The CBI arrested Srivastava and his wife Chandni Srivastava along with two accomplices, Bhushan Lal Bajaj and Anita Bajaj.

Abhay Kumar Srivastava appointed as a CMD in 2009, he is a mechanical engineer by profession and done his B. Tech in mechanical engineering and M. tech in industrial engineering from IIT, Delhi.

Mr. Srivastava has spent around 20 years of his life in National Thermal Power Corporation Limited. Further, he spent 5 years of his career working with Indian Petro Chemicals Corporation Ltd, a Navratan public sector under the ministry of chemicals and petro-chemicals.

The CBI arrested Srivastava when his wife was accepting an illegal gratification of three gold bricks, each weighing one kg, of 24 carat gold. His wife was accepting the bribe from the wife of a middleman who was brokering a deal between the CMD and a Madhya Pradesh-based private company.

At the time of the CBI raid, Srivastava's wife, accompanied by the wife of the middleman, had just deposited the three gold bricks in a bank locker of the Bank of Maharashtra in the national capital.

The bank locker was in the name of the wife of the middleman. It was being operated by Srivastava's wife "as benami".

A search of the locker revealed seven more gold bricks of 1 kg each, golden ornaments weighing 188 grams and Indian currency of Rs.9.5 lakh. A search of Srivastava's wife led to the recovery of Rs.5 lakh from her handbag and the key of another locker in the name of the wife of the middleman.

A search of the second locker led to recovery of Rs 15 lakh in cash.

The total recoveries amount to 10.188 kg gold and Rs 29.5 lakh in cash. The total value of the seizures works out to approximately Rs.2.43 crore at current prices of gold.

The special coins, to be released by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee before his Budget speech. For the first time in the country's minting history, government will issue coins of Rs 150.

On the occasion of completion of 150 years, from 1860 to 2010, of the Income Tax department.

The Rs 150 coin, made of an alloy of Silver, Copper, Nickel and Zinc, will have an international design with ''Satyameva Jayate'' and ''India'' on the front side while a portrait of ''Chanakya and lotus with honeybee'' on the reverse side.

While 200 coins will be minted in Rs 150 denomination, 100 such coins of Rs 5 will be issued.

200 coins will be issued with population of 1.1. billion!

Anti-narcotics cop nabbed with drugs

Two persons, including a Senior Inspector of Maharashtra police, were on arrested from central Mumbai for allegedly trying to sell 1.54 kg brown sugar worth Rs 15 lakh.

They had bought the drugs from Jammu and Kashmir and was going to deliver it to a local drug peddler.

Cops suspect that Dhawale has been part of an active drug-peddling racket for years now, and has been using his official position to buy drugs at a lesser price.

He also has also been threatening drug peddlers in the city that he will get them arrested.

In 2007, when he was posted at Vikhroli police station, the State Excise Department had arrested Dhawale. He was dismissed from service under Section 311 of the Bombay Police Acts. But subsequently reinstated a few months ago.

Dhawale is also said to have grabbed land worth several crores in Ghatkopar-Vikhroli-Parksite area in the last few years.

At least 65 people have been killed in an earthquake that hit the city of Christchurch in New Zealand. The 6.3 magnitude quake struck the country’s second-largest city on a busy weekday afternoon.

The airport was closed and Christchurch Hospital was evacuated. Power and telephone lines were knocked out, and pipes burst, flooding the streets with water. Some cars apparently parked on the street were buried under rubble.

Some people were stuck in office towers and firefighters climbed ladders to pluck people trapped on roofs to safety.

Ajmal Kasab, watched via video- conference as the Bombay High Court confirmed his death sentence for waging war against India with the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai in 2008.

Kasab - the only terrorist caught alive during the 26/11 terror attacks - was sentenced to death last year by a trial court in Mumbai.

The Bombay High Court found that Kasab and his partner, Abu Ismail, killed 56 innocent people. Kasab, the judges said, was solely responsible for 7 deaths, including three of Maharashtra's senior-most policemen.

Kasab has been kept in a special bomb-proof and bullet-proof cell at Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail. Rs 45 crore has been poured into his security, which includes special jail and hospital cells. Since the daily expenditure is Rs 9 lakh.

The terrorist can now appeal in the Supreme Court against verdict. And he has one more option after that to appeal in front of President for mercy.

The Court has confirmed death sentence to 39-year-old Koli, who has also been punished by the trial court in three other cases of rape and killing of young women and children in Nithari village near Noida.

A Bench of Justices Markandey Katju and Gyan Sudha Misra confirmed the death sentence to 39-year-old Koli. "In our opinion this case falls in the rarest of rare category and no mercy can be shown to him".

Total of 16 cases were registered against Koli. The case of the Nithari serial killings came to light towards the end of December 2006, following the discovery of human remains from a drain behind Pandher's house in Noida. A subsequent and thorough search of the drain kept yielding human remains and skeletons for over a week.

At least 18 children were killed and many sexually assaulted in the horrifying serial crime.

The killer should be given his punishment as it is already late. Pandher should also be given punishment he should not let gone for what he has done.

Karmapa Lama Arrested

Dharamsala businessman KP Bhardwaj, who is believed to have struck a land deal with the Karmapa's trust, and a bank manager from Haryana have been arrested and are being questioned following the recovery of unaccounted foreign and Indian currency worth nearly Rs70 million from the monastery.

DK Dhar, manager of the Corporation Bank in Ambala in Haryana, was also arrested Saturday night for allegedly making a transaction of Rs.1 crore to Bhardwaj. The two were on Sunday brought to the police station in Una, some 100 km from the monastery, for questioning.

Foreign currency worth Rs 7 crore was recovered from Karmapa's office. Meanwhile candle light march were held protesting raids at offices of Karmapa Lama. Thousands of followers and devotees of Karmapa Lama gathered at BodhGaya in Bihar and carried out a candle light march against the police action at his residence.

CBI Raids-Offices and Residences of Adarsh Promoters

A day after filing its first FIR in the Adarsh Co-operative Housing Society scam, CBI conducted raids at the residences and offices of three of its promoters on Sunday.

The searches were conducted at the residences and other places of the society's general secretary R C Thakur, retired Brigadier M M Wanchoo and Congress leader K L Gidwani in various parts of Maharashtra and Bihar.

The FIR has been filed under various sections of IPC including criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and showing forged document as genuine besides sections pertaining to Prevention of Corruption Act.

The raids come a day after the CBI filed an FIR naming 13 people, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and some retired senior Army officials.

Thakur, Wanchoo and Gidwani were allegedly the prime movers in building the society. He was the sub-divisional officer at the Defence Estate Office of Mumbai while Gidwani, a former Congress MLC, was the chief promoter of the society.

Two former army chiefs Gen Deepak Kapoor and Gen N C Vij and ex-navy chief Admiral Madhavendra Singh owned flats in the scam-hit society building. However, the former top chiefs have claimed that they have now surrendered the flats.

Rajesh Talwar, father of murdered teenager Aarushi, was attacked by an unidentified youth outside a Ghaziabad court.Talwar, who had gone to the court to file a petition demanding a fresh probe by the CBI in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, was taken to a hospital by his lawyers.

Young man - was beaten up by angry lawyers before he was taken into custody. His name is Utsav Sharma, who belongs to Varanasi.

He is the same person who had attacked SPS Rathore outside a Panchkula court in February last year. He was a student of the prestigious National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad.

It is claimed that he was upset at the slow progress in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case and his intention was only to injure Talwar. He has been arrested under 307 IPC (attempt to murder),

Utsav's father said his son "should not be treated as a criminal, considering his mental condition". "My son is suffering from depression since December 2007... Taking this into account, he should not be treated as a criminal for attacking Talwar.

Income Tax officials raided the houses of Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra this morning. Both are being accused of tax evasion and hiding actual income while filing their income tax returns.

Katrina Kaif -- who can't not even speak Hindi when she got her first break in Bollywood -- earns 30 million rupees per film and 25 million rupees a year for product endorsements.

Income Tax authorities were investigating whether or not the actors had paid taxes proportionate to their income.

The authorities are also going through the returns filed by Priyanka and Katrina in the last few years. Officers said the details in returns would be scrutinised to find out if entire income is shown in the same.

As Mobile Number Portability takes off across the country today, all you need to do is switch operators if the one you have isn't meeting your needs and standards.

MNP services were first launched in Haryana in November last year.

Aditya Birla group firm Idea Cellular today started a helpline to guide over 700 million mobile users on various aspects of the service. "Idea's new Toll Free Number 1800-270-0000 will offer all relevant information on the processes and procedures of availing MNP.

There should not be any outstanding payment by way of pending bills if you are post paid customers can apply for availing of MNP services. For a prepaid number, carry forward of any balance to the new service provider is not permitted.

Some existing customers may migrate to different operators, some may shift to us for better coverage.

You can shift from a GSM service to CDMA or vice versa, you cannot shift from one state to another. If you do, roaming kicks in, just like it does right now.

You can't retain the number you had in Mumbai if you shift base to Delhi. The subscriber will have to pay Rs 19 as porting charge. Once a subscriber shifts to another operator, he cannot port his number again for another 90 days.

Earthquake In Pakistan, India, Dubai

A severe earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale hit remote area of south-west Pakistan on Wednesday was felt from India to Dubai.

The earthquake occurred at 1.23 am Pakistani time at a depth of 84 km. Its epicentre was Dalbandin, a remote town in Balochistan province with a population of 15,000. No reports of casualties at the epicentre because the region is sparsely populated.

In India's northwestern border state of Rajasthan said cracks appeared in the walls of rural dwellings.

People rushed from their homes as the quake hit. At many places, men and women gathered in open spaces and began praying.

Tremors of the quake were felt in Delhi, Jaipur, Barmer, Ganganagar and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan and parts of Haryana, Delhi, NCR.

Former Swiss private banker handed over data on hundreds of bank account holders to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Monday, saying he wanted to draw attention to financial abuses.

Rudolf Elmer, a former employee of Swiss-based Bank Julius Baer, said the account holders include celebrities, business leaders and lawmakers. The two yellow and blue discs contain information on around 2,000 banking clients, both individuals and companies, he said, declining to reveal further details on the data.

The data covers multinationals, financial firms and wealthy individuals from many countries, including the UK, US and Germany, and covers the period 1990-2009.

Elmer says he is releasing the information "in order to educate society".

Elmer said he would not reveal what specifically was in the documents, and would not disclose "individual companies or individual names" of the account holders.

"As banker, I have the right to stand up if something is wrong,” he said. “I am against the system. I know how the system works and I know the day-to-day business. I wanted to let society know how this system works because it’s damaging society,” he said.
