A Libyan plane arriving from South Africa crashed today at Tripoli airport killing all 105 people on board. Among the dead were 94 passengers and 11 crew members. There was no immediate indication of the cause of the crash, which occurred as the Afriqiyah Airways plane was landing after a flight from Johannesburg at around 6:00 am (0930 IST). All of the passengers and crew died except for one child,” a Libyan security source said at Tripoli airport. Libya’s transport minister Mohamed Zidan said the 10-year-old child, who holds a Dutch passport, was in hospital.
The child did not have life-threatening injuries, the minister told a news conference near the crash site. Flight 8U771 had an accident during landing at Tripoli International airport.
It was founded in April 2001 and at first fully owned by the Libyan state. The company’s capital was later divided into shares to be managed by the Libya-Africa Investment Portfolio.
Weather conditions were good at Tripoli on Wednesday morning, with only light clouds in the sky.
Yes! it is a miracle and too sad.
