A human GARDA hunt is underway after a money theft in transit in western Dublin this afternoon.

The money van was posted round 2.30 pm within the Fonthill Highway space of ​​Clondalkin and Gardai responded instantly to the scene.

A person, armed with a bat, threatened a safety employee with a gun earlier than fleeing the scene with a money field.

The suspect escaped in a jeep that headed within the course of Lucan.

The male safety employee was not injured throughout the theft, and Gardai in Ronanstown is investigating the incident.

Arrests haven’t but been made as a part of the incident and searches are ongoing.

A spokesman for Garda mentioned: “Gardaí is investigating a theft of money in transit that occurred on Fonthill Highway, Clondalkin, at present, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at roughly 2:30 p.m.

“A person armed with a bat took a money field from a male employee. He left the scene in a jeep that went within the course of Lucan. No accidents have been reported.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
